Sunday Recs Post: Things I Found That You Might Like

The "Star Trek Has Eaten My Brain" edition. I find ST:TOS fandom significantly more palatable when I can imagine Chris Pine instead of Shatner. Sorry Bill! The mystery left shortly after I read your bio and learned about the scene where Koko the Gorilla had you by the balls.

Rec: Merlin
[personal profile] montanaharper wrote The Prince and His Manservant's Magical Healing Cock, the one where a storyteller comes to court and tells increasingly bawdy tales, a la Canterbury Tales, and one makes everyone in the room kind of .. awkward. (Arthur/Merlin, R)

[personal profile] yue_ix pic-ficced Episode 11.2 - Uther's Legendary Legacy, which can be best summed up as "this is not the mpreg you were expecting". (no notes! I am not going to give it away!)

Recs: SGA
[personal profile] argosy wrote Rodney's Emo Cat. Teyla was surprised to learn that Earth pets did not generally go through a well-defined period of sulky adolescence. (McKay/Sheppard, hilariousness) [McSmooch]

Recs: New Trek
[personal profile] ifyouweremine wrote Just Lie Back & Think Of The Federation, where aliens suggest they do it, Spock argues it would be illogical not to, and Kirk lets himself be persuaded. (NC-17, first-time)

[personal profile] svilleficrecs seems to have been singlehandedly creating half of the NewTrek fic so far available. To start with, she's writing a totally excellent series of Spock/Uhura/Kirk threesome fics. (Because have you seen Zoe Saldana? Daaaaaamn.) So far, these include Observe, where Kirk's got eyes, thank you very much, and this unpolished thing where fighting turns into sex.

She's also written this bit, backstory for Uhura's roommate (gen), and To The Best of My Recollection, where Spock!Prime's memories got transferred to Jim, and he keeps remembering a relationship that hasn't happened (Kirk/Spock, NC-17). And there's also this entry in the STXI kink meme, where Uhura pushes Spock too far.

Also, I think she's responsible for this one, featuring post-rescue adrenaline sex (Kirk/Spock). So yeah, [personal profile] svilleficrecs, KEEP ON KEEPING ON PLS.

Lastly, [profile] woebetidesweets wrote Barely Perceptible Green, where Kirk & Spock both try to give each other what they each need. In a sex kinda way. (NC-17, hott)

Recs: ST:TOS
These are all Kirk/Spock, and most feature Pon Farr, because it's the best plot device ever.

I found [personal profile] penknife's classic Trek reclist very useful.

For this week's list here, let's start with Killa's classic vid, Closer, which asks the all-important fannish question: what if the Enterprise hadn't made it to Vulcan in time, when Spock was in Pon Farr? (NC-17, pon farr)

Jesmihr wrote The Game: McCoy, Spock, Kirk & Scotty play drinking games. Awesome. (preslash, gen, team!fic)

Jesmihr also wrote His Darkest Hour. Her summary: Spock must contend not only with his own feelings but also with those of a telepathic alien, who has designs on Kirk. (NC-17, first-time)

K'Chaps wrote Blood Fever, the one where Jim goes into Pon Farr. I dunno. (NC-17, pon farr)

Kira-nerys wrote From The Mouth of a Predator, where they're kidnapped, and Spock goes into Pon Farr. (Are you sensing a theme? Pon Farr, the original X-made-them-do-it.) (NC-17, pon farr)

Rae Trail wrote Out of Ashes, where Kirk meets Spock when recovering from an attack. Together, they rebuild the USS Excalibur, and start to build a friendship. And possibly more? (first-time, NC-17)

Saavant wrote Points of Interest, which is the crackiest thing I've read in eons. Kirk has an ear fetish. Spock has ... ears. May possibly squick you out! But it is still hilarious! (NC-17, first-time, fetish)

Vansati wrote Hours of Freedom. Aliens give them amnesia. They make themselves do it. (NC-17, amnesia, first-time)

All I want to do is read more NewTrek fic. Anyone want to suggest people to follow or comms to read?
