PSA: Fannish Toronto
(This is a rare crossposting, because I don't want anyone to be left out.)
1. There's a website called GoFoBo that gives away passes to advance screenings of movies. They organize both private screenings (where you need a code to get a pass) and open screenings.
Right now they're advertising a private screening in Toronto of the new Tom Hardy/Chris Pine movie/Reese Witherspoon movie, This Means War, on January 26.
Why am I taunting you with this information? Because my experience is that private screenings turn into open screenings a day before the movie.
TL;DR - Go sign up on GoFoBo (it's free) and check on the 24th and 25th to see if tickets become available for the 26th. We shall all enjoy Tom Hardy's perfectly shaped head!and Chris Pine's perfectly shaped ass.
2. (More of a Fannish Canada announcement) Cineplex Canada is holding another round of the Great Digital Film Fest, where movie tickets are only six bucks (or less, if you buy multiples). It's running Feb 3 to 9 across Canada, and here is the schedule. It was basically built for fandom. They're even showing Serenity!
