My favourite Boing Boing writer, Maggie Koerth-Baker, has a great post up at that site about how the world screwed Haiti over, pre-earthquake: Haiti's Real Deal With The Devil.

After you read that, might I suggest (if you can) that you go over to Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders and send some cashy money? Here's the Canadian site, here's the US website and here's the international site.

I'm suggesting MSF as the conduit for your Haiti help dollars because they've got an option to earmark your money for Haiti, because of their exemplary financial record and also because they were in Haiti pre-earthquake. I reason that groups who were there pre-earthquake will be able to get their feet back under them quickly. Also, the healthcare work they were doing in Haiti pre-earthquake was vital, and needs to be re-established quickly.

Do what you can, my friends!

Ladies & gent, may I present the blog Cute Things Falling Asleep.

Be prepared to lose a good hour and risk your face freezing in a near permanent "aaaaawwwww!" expression.

This Festivid entry is amazing. I was a little worried, before watching, about the idea of combining footage from The Sound of Music with music that, well, wasn't, but oh, it's so good.

(If the embed isn't working for you, you can watch "Lullabye for a Stormy Night" here at the Festivids lj. That's also where you should go to leave feedback.)
