The University of Illinois upped it's energy efficiency and saved 5 mill. I am impressed! [EcoGeek]
I never thought about it before, but someone had to design the space suit, right? And doesn't that seem like an awesome and bizarre thing to have done? Here's an interview with Bill Elkins, who helped make the first one, along with inventing a kazillion other gizmos that astronauts use.
I want a pet but probably not this one.

The 2009 winners of the Bulwer-Lytton contest have been named! If you've never come across it before, the Bulwer-Lytton is "a whimsical literary competition that challenges entrants to compose the opening sentence to the worst of all possible novels." It's inspired by & named after the dude who wrote the book that began "it was a dark and stormy night".
Ript: The Revolutionary Torso-Enhancing Undershirt is made of pure, unadultered win. I hope to see many beer-bellied men wearing this in the near future.
