Oh, I forgot
Oct. 29th, 2006 01:32 amThe other thing I did, while without internet access, was to finally request a copy of "City of Bones" from my bookstore's Simon & Schuster rep. I'd been putting it off.
"How did you even hear about that book?," she asked, puzzled. "None of the publicity's started, the catalogues aren't out yet and I haven't started sending out advance copies."
"The author's big on the 'net," I explained.
"She is?"
In short, I got to explain the concept of fanfiction, which made eyebrows raise in a "why-would-anyone-do-that?" kind of way.
I guess they're not using that part of Cassie Clare's rap sheet to sell the books. Surprise, surprise.
