First, Mercedes McNab is posing nude for Playboy. Whedonesque alerted me to this VIF, but has now taken down the link. I'm bemused that someone thought it Wasn't Cool to tell the world they could see Harmony naked.

It would be awesome if there was fake blood involved, but no, they're having her "[play] coquette in a decadent beaux arts pictorial".

Also, I didn't think of it 'till now, but how awesome is it that there was a vampire who was called "Harm"?

Hm. I have my doubts about the brilliant hilarity of Doug Petrie mixing well with CSI. But I will watch! Because I love him! (Astronauts win.)

Thirdly, BSG? The season two finale? Cain! And the Cylon interrogator! And the badness! I couldn't handle some of the scenes and had to skip forward through them with the sound off. And I didn't expect to suddenly find sympathy for Gaius, but I totally did. Gaius! With the crying! And Tricia! With the being abused and broken! Really, it was almost too frakkin' much. Also, why is there no Kara/Lee action yet? And what's with the Dee/Lee thing? I don't like it. Notatallatallatall.

Have I missed the season three opening ep?

ETA: No. October 6. That is fucking far away.

I don't think you were watching the finale. Unless I'm confused and don't understand. Are you talking about the ep Pegasus? Where Cain shows up? Because that's only the end of the first half of s2. There are 10 more episodes (I think 10) after that!

Yes, that was the Pegasus ep, and I thought that seemed like a pretty slim season, but then I checked Amazon and it said that there are only three discs in the Season 2 package.

What am I missing? Are there another three discs? I'm so confused yet hopeful yet weirded out by the attempted rape which was totally awful.

I was traumatized by the ep too :(

So, they released the DVDs in two sets - season 2.0 and 2.5 (I'm annoyed by this), and 2.5 was set for release in Canada only in September. I think it should be available now.

Oh, nope. I just checked hmv.ca, and it ships September 19th. GAH.

The second season was split between Season 2.0 (2.01 through 2.10) and Season 2.5 (2.11 through 2.20) and is split into two separate DVD packages. If you've got it from Netflix or Amazon you'll have to order the second half, or catch the reruns. Personally I'd advise catching the reruns or renting the second set rather than buying, as the second half of Season 2 is pretty uneven. There's some great stuff in it, and it picks up towards the end, but there are a couple of pretty lousy episodes in there. On the bright side, it sounds from the podcasts like Moore & Co. are aware there were some problems with 2.5 and aren't living in a dream world where everything is wonderful. Self-awareness is half the battle.

There are two season two sets - season 2.0 (the first half) and season 2.1 (the second half) - the second set isn't out yet. I believe it comes out at the end of this month.

BSG doesn't show where I live except on some strange Space channel which I'm sure I don't receive -- BUT. The local video store has finally picked up season one, and so I watched the first four or so episodes this weekend and OH MY GOD. It's pretty much my new favourite TV thing. (Unfortunate that I'm two seasons behind...)

The premise and the plotlines and the moral decisions and the characters -- it's like they've taken all of my favourite archetypes and mixed them up and pulled out amazing things. ♥
